Welcome

TLR-DS-Sanctuary-xc2-W.jpg
Once again, almost a year – a tumultuous, roller coaster of a year, has passed, and I have found myself way overworked again.
Wanting to find time to upgrade my websites, and just not finding that time.
However, I have at last spent much time over some months reworking the look of the website, and assembling bucket-loads of new things to post – so check back and see what you think when the new make – new model megabytes your way in the proximal future.
The new site will finally be closer to what I always wanted the site to be; new presentations, features and more sections and pages.
I apologize for two things: Firstly, for not being more of a fanatic for site updates and frankly, the site largely said much of what I wanted it to. Secondly, I am looking into whether it’s viable to have a Shop section, to help sell posters and so forth.
I’m just an average working shmoe, not massively enterprising, but massively enthusiastic and passionate about my work.
A friendly reminder – some stuff on this site is Adult Material, so parents are advised to show vigilance and discretion when allowing family members to view it.

Ciao for the nonce

LOST IN SPACE IS RELEASED
On a personal note – I was in pretty poor shape towards the end of 2005 (I seriously overworked myself on Lost in Space), during which time I just wasn’t up to much, but my health is finally returning and I will keep my eye on the website more often.

Speaking of Lost in Space, I have been told that it has now been out for some time and it has been widely praised – (all 380 pages) – www.lisvoyage.com. I still haven’t seen it… (hint… hint… John)

And after talking to John Severin Jnr, the public reaction to Lost in Space has been overwhelmingly ‘out of this world’ – copies are flying off the shelves as fast as the printer can deliver them. This is fantastic news and I’m so happy to see the project is doing so well. Anyone looking to get a copy – check out the www.lisvoyage.com website to place your order.

Stan Lee’s comments about my artwork in Lost in Space are particularly gratifying. To get such praise from ‘The Man’ himself is a wonderful accolade. And speaking of praise, Bill Mumy sent me a terrific letter.

Hello Michal,

John Severin Jr. just sent me copies of your finished Voyage to the Bottom of the Soul artwork. It looks really great! Feels wonderful to finally have it done and coming out. Thank you so much for your talent and wonderful energy on this ambitious long term project. I’m really glad we got to see it through together. I hope we can collaborate again one day.

Thanks,
Bill

I’d just like to extend a personal thanks to Bill, for once again letting me be the artistic partner to his wonderful story telling.

‘HOLLYWOOD’ MICHAL DUTKIEWICZ

I am currently being paid to write treatment work and do some development art for some Fantasy TV series. It is very challenging, and some of the ideas are really beginning to excite me.

As to what I have been doing professionally since Lost in Space finished. Well, I’m still doing my weekly Pin-Up for Picture Magazine, and for the last few months I’ve had the opportunity to play at being a writer, and working on some exciting Sci-Fi and Fantasy Film and TV projects with Pat McNamara (colourist on LIS), although we’re not allowed to mention details – so I can’t say more.

GOVERNMENT ABORIGINAL SUPER-HEROES

I recently finished working on an Aboriginal superhero Project for schools organised by Damian Amamoo at Inception Strategies.

The winning page was for a character called E-Girl.

OTHER BITS
And just on a practical note – I am happy for other websites to feature samples of my pin-up work (although preferably not more than 16 images), as long as the images used are duplicates of art already featured on my website and include my copyright logo and an additional text credit that the work belongs to me (Michal Dutkiewicz). I also require that you include a link to my website with the featured artwork. I can’t think of any objection to six small-sized examples of my pinups work. Preferably you could use six from my site.

I am usually happy to arrange links, but because I pay someone to put stuff up on my site and maintain it, I try to do things in job lots so as to cap the expenses a little.

Finally starting to see a few films again and get through some of the backlog of work, although I think I have lost contact with some people as a result of the demands on my time during the production of Lost In Space.

And thanks for the praise for the simplicity and design of the website. I hope things will run smoothly from now on, and I’ll try to learn how to upload the blog component myself to keep you posted with news. So once again, don’t forget to check the new sections including the Comic Book work, featuring Batman, Catwoman, Wolverine and more…

… And I’ve finally been pirated by Imagenetion – although it took an email to get them to spell my name right …

I’ll update again very soon, and hopefully fairly regularly from now on.

(About LISVoyage) Simply put, I couldn’t be prouder of the project.
